Rules and Regs

The Average Angler fishing adventures hosts charity events with the goal of bringing anglers together for a great cause. The prizes we have are awesome due to our awesome sponsors. We appreciate everyone to fish in a friendly, honest and safe manner.

The comp runs from Busselton to Augusta but registrations and presentations are all done at Hamelin Bay.

We promote catch and release but fish may be kept. We don`t like to see any fish wasted.

Some areas can be dangerous especially rock fishing. People have died trying to catch salmon from the rocks. Their are plenty of safer alternatives. If you plan to fish from the rocks please the recfish website for more information on rockfishing safety.

To register a catch you need to measure your fish from the fork (middle of the tail) to the fishes nose. You must give photo or video evidence of your catch.

Fishing starts at first light Saturday morning. All registrations must be done at The Average Angler banner at Hamelin Bay tourist park (Our site is the closest site to the boat ramp) before 2pm on Sunday. Registrations can be done anytime during the event.

Presentation will be at Hamelin Bay tourist park at 4pm on Sunday the 8th of April. Come along for the giveaways, prizes and raffle draw.
